Let customers pay with Stebby, the employee benefit wallet in Estonia and Latvia. Learn what you need from Stebby and how to set up the integration.

This page is for venues and companies only.

If you are a customer looking to pay with Stebby, no setup is needed. You can select Stebby as your payment method at checkout if it is available at your venue.

You can find user instructions here.

Stebby is in private preview. Contact Thril support to get access for your venue.

Stebby is the employee benefit wallet in Estonia and Latvia. Customers pay with their employer compensation and their own Stebby balance. When the integration is active, customers can select Stebby at checkout on the web and in the Thril app, approve the payment in Stebby, and come back to Thril.

The integration is available to venues in Estonia and Latvia.

Prerequisites

You need these from Stebby:

  • A Stebby contract for your venue, with a Point of Sale.
  • The Standard or Gold package. API access needs one of them.
  • An API key for your Point of Sale. In Stebby, open your Point of Sale, activate API access and create a key. Stebby explains this in its help center.
  • A service with a reference code for each Stebby category you sell. Add them to your Point of Sale in Stebby. A service's category decides whether employer compensation can pay for it. For example, court sports and gym are in a different category than bowling, sauna or rental gear.

Thril sends its own price to Stebby, so the price you set on a service in Stebby does not matter.

To enable

  1. Go to Settings → System → Integrations → Stebby
  2. Enter your API key. Thril loads the services of your Point of Sale from Stebby.
  3. Pick the Default Stebby service
  4. Optional: pick other services under Different service per product type and Different service per resource. See Stebby services below.
  5. Set Status to Active and select Save changes

Thril checks the API key with Stebby when you save. After you save, the key is not shown again. To keep it, leave the field blank when you edit the integration later.

Customers can pay with Stebby only for products that allow employee benefit payments. Turn on Payable with an employee benefit on the products, and Employee benefit eligibility on the resources, that you want to sell with Stebby.

Stebby services

Each item in a payment goes to Stebby as one purchase with a Stebby service. Thril picks the service in this order:

  1. Resource. Reservations on a resource that has its own service under Different service per resource use that service. For example, bowling lanes in a padel hall belong to another Stebby category.
  2. Product type. Items of a product type under Different service per product type use that service, for example events, memberships or Pro Shop products.
  3. Default. Everything else uses the Default Stebby service.

You pick every service by name from the list that Stebby gives. If Stebby no longer lists a service you saved, the settings page shows the warning Stebby no longer lists some saved services. Stebby payments for those items fail until you pick another service.

Payments and refunds

  • The customer's Stebby balance must cover the full amount. If it does not, the payment fails and Stebby charges nothing. The customer can pick another payment method.
  • A refund Via original payment method goes back to the customer's Stebby wallet, item by item. Stebby refunds have no refund fee.
  • You can also pick Refund as credits or Handle manually.
  • If you inactivate the integration, refunds of earlier Stebby payments still go back to Stebby.

Troubleshooting

  • If the Active option is disabled, enter the API key and pick a Default Stebby service.
  • If saving fails with "Stebby did not accept the API key. Check the key and try again.", check that you copied the whole key from Stebby.
  • If saving fails with "This Stebby API key cannot take online payments.", ask Stebby to enable the TOKEN context for the key.
  • If customers see that the venue cannot take Stebby payments for a purchase, check that the service for that item still exists in Stebby, and that it has the right reference code.
  • Inactivating the integration immediately stops customers from paying with Stebby.
  • For questions about your contract, package or API key, contact Stebby. For help with the integration in Thril, contact Thril support.
