Welcome offers

Reward people with credits for joining your customer register and for allowing email offers from you.

A welcome offer rewards people with credits when they become your customers. You can also reward them for allowing email offers, so the offer grows your marketing list too. You choose the amounts and how long the credits stay valid.

The two rewards

  • Reward for joining the customer register. A person who is not your customer yet gets this when they join through Thril.
  • Reward for marketing consent. A person gets this the first time they allow email offers from you. Existing customers can earn it too.

Use one reward or both. Somebody who joins and allows email offers at the same time gets both.

Each person earns each reward once, ever. Turning the offer off and on again does not reset that. Children's accounts never earn a reward.

Welcome credits are spendable at every venue of your company, and they expire after the time you choose.

What your customers see

On your venue page and your company page, a Welcome pass shows the credits on offer. It sits on top of every venue tab, so people see it whether they came to book a court, find a class or shop. Claim credits opens a pop-up where the person joins, can tick Email me offers and news, and collects the credits into their wallet. A visitor who is not signed in signs in first.

The pass changes with the person:

PersonWhat the pass offers
Not your customer yetJoining, with email offers as an optional extra
Customer without email offersEmail offers only
Customer with email offers on, or nothing left to earnNo pass

Not now puts the pass away on that browser or phone. On desktop it stays within reach as a small badge next to the venue name. On a phone it moves to a card in the venue details, or to the venue's Profile tab in the app.

At checkout, the same offer shows as a Welcome credit line above the promo code. Its switch joins your register there and then. A customer without email offers gets an Email offers bonus line instead. If the purchase accepts credits, the reward comes off the total straight away. If it does not, such as a credit top-up, the credits wait in the wallet for the next purchase.

A customer who turns on email offers later, from their customer settings on the web or in the app, also gets the consent reward.

Ways to use it

Grow the email list you already have. Leave the joining reward empty and set only the reward for marketing consent. Your current customers then see a pass that rewards them for turning on email offers.

Catch first-time bookers at checkout. Somebody booking a court for the first time sees the welcome credit before they pay, and the reward makes the first booking cheaper.

Sign up people at the front desk. When staff create a customer, they can turn on Grant welcome offers to give the rewards the person is due. The person does not need the app.

What does not earn a reward

  • Buying without joining first. A purchase makes the person your customer without the joining reward, and they cannot earn it later. That is why the checkout line offers joining before they pay.
  • Consent recorded by staff or from an import. Staff can only give the consent reward when they create the customer with Grant welcome offers on.

Changing or stopping the offer

Changes apply to rewards from then on. Nothing is ever taken back. Credits people already have stay in their wallets until they expire, even after you turn the offer off.

Following the results

The cards show Rewards given, Credits given, Credits spent and Credits expired. The Rewards tab lists each reward with the customer, the reward type, the amount, what is left and when it expires.

A short expiry gives people a reason to come back soon. Credits that expire before anybody has time to use them do not bring anybody through the door either.
