Sale limit, sale window and regular price
Sell a membership, session card, top-up or gift card to a limited number of customers, during a set time, with the regular price shown next to the offer.
Memberships, session cards and top-ups, gift cards included, have a Sales section in their form. It holds three optional settings that turn a product into a campaign:
- a sale limit, for offers such as "only for the first 100 buyers";
- a sale window, so the product appears in the shop and disappears from it on its own;
- a regular price, shown struck through next to the price the customer pays.
All three are off until you fill them in. The section is collapsed in the form, and its second line shows what is set, for example "88 / 100 sold · Regular price 49,00 € · 1.11.2026 09:00–31.12.2026 23:59".
Sale limit
The Sale limit is the most that can be sold in total. When that many are sold, customers can no longer buy the product online. The shop keeps showing it with Sold out on it, so customers can see the offer was there.
Staff are never blocked by the limit. You can still add the product to a customer or sell it in POS after it has sold out, and those sales count toward the limit too. The form shows how many have been sold so far.
How purchases count:
| Situation | Counts toward the limit |
|---|---|
| Customer pays for the product | Yes |
| Customer opens checkout but hasn't paid yet | Yes, while the checkout is open. If the customer leaves without paying, the place is freed within about an hour |
| Staff add the product to a customer, or sell it in POS | Yes |
| The purchase is refunded | Yes, a refund doesn't free the place |
| A membership is terminated or a card expires | Yes |
| Staff issue a gift card code without a sale | No |
If you want to sell more after a refund, raise the limit.
A product that is available in all venues of the company has one limit for all of them.
Sales made before the limit was introduced to Thril aren't counted. Set the limit on a new product, or take earlier sales into account when you choose the number.
Show how many are left
Turn on Show how many are left in the shop and customers see the number of places still available, for example "12 left". It's off by default, because a large number rarely helps a sale. A good moment to turn it on is when only a few remain.
Sale window
On sale from and On sale until set when customers can buy the product online. Before the start and after the end, the product isn't in the shop and its link doesn't open. Inside the window, the product follows its normal shop visibility: a Hidden product still sells only through its link.
Enter the times in the venue's time zone. Leave either field empty for a sale with no start or no end.
The sale window is separate from how long the product is valid. A summer card can go on sale in May and be valid from June to August. Closing the window only stops new online sales:
- existing members keep their membership, and recurring memberships keep renewing;
- customers keep the session cards and credits they bought;
- staff can still add and sell the product.
A customer who had the shop open before the window closed can't buy afterwards either. Thril checks the window when the payment starts.
Regular price
The Regular price is shown struck through next to the price the customer pays. It's for display only. Customers are never charged it, and it doesn't appear on receipts or in bookkeeping.
Thril shows the regular price only when it's higher than the price the customer pays. A regular price equal to the product price isn't shown.
A top-up where the customer chooses the amount has no regular price.
Memberships with introductory pricing
On a membership with introductory pricing, the regular price sits next to the introductory price:
First 3 months 9,90 €
49,00 €per month, then 49,00 €/month
The customer still sees what the membership costs after the introductory periods. The regular price is never shown next to a trial price, because a trial runs for a number of days or months and doesn't compare to a monthly price.
A returning customer doesn't get the introductory price, so they see the normal price. The regular price is shown to them only if it's higher than the normal price.
The promoted card on the venue page shows the regular price the same way.
Product list
The product lists in B2B Web show the sale state next to the shop visibility:
| Badge | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Not on sale yet | The sale window hasn't started |
| Sold out | The sale limit is reached |
| Sale ended | The sale window has ended |
A product on sale has no badge.
Example: opening offer for the first 100 members
- Create a recurring membership with the normal monthly price, 49,00 €.
- Add introductory pricing: 3 periods at a fixed 9,90 €.
- Open Sales. Set Sale limit to 100, Regular price to 49,00 €, and On sale until to the end of the opening month.
- Optionally turn on Show how many are left in the shop and promote the offer on the venue page.
The first 100 customers pay 9,90 € for three months and 49,00 € after that. When the limit is reached, the shop marks the membership sold out. When the month ends, it leaves the shop. Members who joined keep their price.
Period-based membership pauses
Skip complete recurring billing periods and control whether paused periods count toward or extend a fixed-term membership contract.
