Google Business Profile
The free Google listing that shows your venue on Google Maps and in local search. The most important step on this list.
Your Google Business Profile is the box with your name, map, opening hours, photos and reviews that appears when people search for you or for your sport nearby. For a local venue it is usually the single most useful thing to get right.
1. Claim and verify your profile
- Go to google.com/business and sign in with your company's Google account.
- Search for your venue. If it already exists, claim it. If not, create it.
- Verify it the way Google asks. Verified businesses are more likely to show up in local results (Google).
2. Fill in the basics correctly
Google has clear rules for this (Google: Guidelines for representing your business):
- Name: your real name, exactly as it is on your door and website. Don't add words like "Best padel Helsinki", a city or a phone number. It breaks Google's rules and can get your profile suspended.
- Address: your real street address, not a PO box.
- Category: pick as few as possible. Complete the sentence "This business IS a…", for example "Padel club" or "Gym".
- Opening hours: your normal hours. Update special hours for holidays.
- Phone and website: the same ones you use everywhere else.
3. Add your Thril page as the booking link
People should be able to go from Google straight to booking.
- Copy your Thril page address, for example
https://app.thril.fi/venue/your-venue. - In your Business Profile, add it as your booking link or website link. Google explains booking links in Add booking links.
4. Add good photos
Photos help people choose you, and Google recommends adding them (Google).
- Add your courts, halls or gym, the entrance and the atmosphere during a busy session.
- Use bright, sharp photos. Add new ones every few months.
5. Keep it alive
- Answer reviews. See Reviews.
- Update hours and photos when something changes.
- Post news, like a new court or a tournament, as a profile update.
