Reviews
How to get more Google reviews the right way, and how to answer them.
Reviews are one of the things Google uses to decide how prominent your venue is (Google: How to improve your local ranking). They also help people choose you.
Ask at the right moment
The best time to ask is right after a good experience: after a match, a class or a tournament.
- In your Google Business Profile, create a review link or QR code (Google: Tips to get more reviews).
- Put the QR code at your reception or in the changing room.
- Share the link in your newsletter or in a message after a visit.
Rules you must follow
- Don't pay or reward for reviews. Discounts, free sessions or prizes in exchange for a review are against Google's rules and can get reviews removed (Google).
- Don't write reviews yourself or ask staff to. Reviews must reflect a genuine experience (Google).
Answer every review
- Positive: thank them, and mention something specific. "Thanks Jonna, great to hear you enjoyed the Friday tournament!"
- Negative: stay calm and polite. Say sorry for the experience, explain what you'll do, and offer to continue the discussion privately.
- Keep answers short. Other customers read them too.
