Changing your email address

How to change your Thril account's email address on the web and in the app, and what to do if you sign in with Apple or Google.

Your Thril account is identified by its email address. When you change the address, your bookings, memberships and history stay with you, and you sign in with the new address from then on.

How you change it depends on how you sign in to Thril:

  • Do you sign in with an email link or code? Change the address in Thril's settings. See the steps.
  • Do you sign in with Apple or Google? The address comes from your Apple or Google account, and you change it there. See the steps.

Does the new address already have its own Thril account? An address can belong to one account only. If you have ever created another account with the address you want to switch to, delete that extra account first. See Deleting your account.

Changing it in Thril

This works when you sign in with an email link or code.

In the app

  1. Open the Profile tab and choose Settings.
  2. Under Account information, choose Email.
  3. Enter your new email address and choose Save.
  4. Open the verification email sent to the new address and tap the link in it.

On the web

  1. Sign in at app.thril.fi and open Settings from your profile menu.
  2. Choose Profile and then Change email.
  3. Enter the new address under New email and choose Send verification email.
  4. Open the verification email sent to the new address and open the link in it.

The address only changes once you open the verification link, so nobody else can change it for you. If the email doesn't arrive, check your spam folder.

If you're told the change couldn't be started, the new address most likely already has its own Thril account. Delete it first with Deleting your account and then try again.

If you sign in with Apple or Google

When you sign in with Apple or Google, Thril gets your email address from Apple or Google. That's why it can't be changed in Thril's settings. Change it in your Apple or Google account, then sign in to Thril again the same way as before. Thril updates your account to the new address, and your bookings stay where they are.

Apple's "Hide My Email"

The first time you signed in with Apple, Apple asked whether to share your email address. If you chose Hide My Email, Thril received a random relay address from Apple, ending in @privaterelay.appleid.com or, for addresses created from late 2026, @private.icloud.com. Messages to it are forwarded to your real inbox, but venues only see the random address.

Apple forwards only the mail that comes through Thril. Booking confirmations, receipts and venues' emails sent with Thril reach you. An email a venue writes from its own mailbox to the random address does not. If a venue needs to email you directly, give them your real address or switch your account to it with the steps below.

To switch to your real address:

  1. If your real address already has its own Thril account, delete it first with Deleting your account.
  2. Open the iPhone Settings app and tap your name at the top.
  3. Tap Sign in with Apple.
  4. Choose Thril from the list and tap Delete. Follow the onscreen steps to confirm.
  5. Open Thril, sign out, and sign back in with Continue with Apple.
  6. When Apple asks about your email address, choose to share it instead of Hide My Email.

You're signed back in to the same account, and its email address changes to your real address.

Menu names can vary slightly between iOS versions.
